Graymahlkyn stalked forward. He knew this was going to be a fiasco. He had run out of bolts for his crossbow, the way back to the outpost was crawling with enemies and he had a blast happy sorceress and an inebriated bloodmage for companions. He could only hope that, that damned sorceress, Nahyr, could dish out enough damage to kill all the enemies that continually came in bunches. Maybe the less than alert bloodmage, Hemorrhage, could throw enough healing magic to keep her alive until Gray could pull the bloodthirsty monsters off of her.

Not for the first time, he wished he had loaded a couple more stacks of bolts. This would be much easier, if he could control the enemies from the beginning of the fight. It didn't help that Hemo and Nahyr continually poked fun at him, for running out of ammo. Gray reminded Nahyr that if she used less fire on their enemies, he might be able to retrieve some ammo. Nahyr had been only too quick to point out that, for all the good her dagger did, spitting at the enemy might be as useful. It didn't improve Gray's mood in the least.

As Gray contemplated this, the stand of trees they walked through, exploded with trolls and wolves. The air exploded with energy and Nahyr instantly opened a rift, to engulf the first of the monsters to reach them. Hemo started a link with Nahyr to reduce the damage she would inevitably take and Gray moved to intercept with the practiced expertise of a hardened warrior. He pivoted in front of a charging troll, stunned it and reversed on a wolf. In a split second he had two of the monsters attention and Nahyr finished the two that had walked into the rift. Hemo had another held and was controlling a fourth making it attack its compatriots. This was more like it. This fight was under control.

"Shall we finish this" chortled Nahyr. Gray thought, "Oh no, here we go again". The fireballs hit just as he finished his thought. Four enemies turned in unison and charged Nahyr. She already had the second group of fireballs on the way and two fast energy rifts later the monsters lay smoldering at their feet. Gray shook his head and muttered, "Blast away, damned sorceress, blast away. Nahyr smirked and watched as Gray inspected the bodies.

Hemo turned to Nahyr and said, "You might make it easier on him. He is here to keep us alive". Nahyr smiled and replied, "If I thought he couldn't, I would limit my attacks." " The warriors of the Refugees have always marched in the forefront of every battle. Graymahlkyn is no exception", she continued. "He held two of them while you slowed the others, giving me time to prepare for finishing them. Well done Hemorrhage." she finished, as she watched Graymahlkyn pick up the loot and move forward once again. Her last thought, as they moved ahead was, "Blast away indeed".
I can't play, I am out of Corellian mead.

Touche, old friend. Nicely done, as usual.

Guess it's time for the GS to drag out his quill and some parchment...
